Kadro Solutions is tripling its space, having just signed a 7-year lease term for 701 Corporate Center off of N.C. 54 in Raleigh. And plans are in the works to eventually double its headcount.

Kadro, an e-commerce-focused software firm that counts eBay and Bronto among its partners, is currently at 40 employees. Its new space could house up to 85, says Rick Johnson, president and CEO.

But that doesn't mean they'll go on an eminent hiring spree. Right now, the focus is on software projects. But the company does plan to increase its team by 30 to 40 percent this year.

Additional roles will likely include software engineers, account managers and sales, says Ty Rhudy, vice president of business development.

Johnson says the growth is driven by e-commerce successes. The company is currently in temporary space and will move into its new headquarters at the beginning of March.

Ryan Gaylord of Tri Properties represented the tenant in lease negotiations and John Hogan of Highwoods represented the landlord.

The new space is 14,423-square-feet, compared to the former office on Wade Avenue that was 5,616-square-feet.

That condo was sold in a transaction also handled by Gaylord.
